The secret of Success

A study was released last month by one of the  major American universities (Duke), which provides new insight into one of the secrets of success. Judging by the impact, the findings will have great influence on education worldwide. The study reveals that being more important than intelligence, professional success is linked to the ability of self-control, or the management of impulses and learning to deal with frustrations .
These findings are based on a 30-year observation of children (some of them twins),who have shown self-control and been keeping their focus on what is relevant. They found that, in addition to better grades, these children, like adults, tended to have more professional success; and they are able to look after their health and stay away from drugs and alcohol abuse.
There is a genetic determinant, said scientists. But, they also said it is something that, in part, can be trained. By the same token, U.S. schools are using techniques to develop self-control in children 3 years old on average, with positive results at least from an academic standpoint.
After all, keeping your focus on the study, without being distracted, requires knowing how to deal with frustration.
