How to get a cell phone?
First you have to know you don’t have to bu new cellphone. All cellphones work in Taiwan. You just need to buy new number.
In Taiwan are several telecommunication companies in Taiwan. Most of them offer the same kind of contracts and prices. The information that we provide is based in the Dageda Myfone, since we have one store situated across the main gate of NCCU. Another popular company is Chunghwa Telecom.
Plan A — Prepaid Cards

Another companies want second ID ex .license driver
Ø How much should I pay?
NT$345 for a Taiwan mobile number, (the $345 can be used to call) and later you can add more money to the card.
Ø Where can get a top-up card?
Buy a top-up card (choose from NT$300, NT$600, or NT$1000) at any Myfone store and later top-up at convenience stores (7-11, OK, Family-Mart, Hi-Life) or Myfone stores
Plan B — Sign a Contract
The contract will be at least 2 years.

Passport
ARC for at least 1 year of validation
Ø How much should I pay?
NT$2900 of guarantee deposit. (This deposit is refundable after some time of contract).
There are different types of monthly payment to choose, depending on your needs, like international calls or text messages. Examples are NT$268, NT$568, or NT$968.
Note that if you are using Blackberry or phone, you have to pay 12 months of fees beforehand.
