Nightlife

Taipei is a 24/7 city. There are always things going on here, lots of places for people who like to party.

There are a lot of nightclubs around the city with a wide range of prices. There are also some bars where you can sit, talk and have a beer or a glass of wine. In some places it’s not common to sit in a restaurant for a long and chat. You eat, and once you are finished you are expected to leave. There are a couple of restaurants around that turn into bars in the evening.

KTV’s are another party place here in Taipei, very Taiwanese. It’s basically booking a private room with a karaoke where you can sing, eat and drink with your friends.

Roxy 99

Address:

Definitely a Wednesdays bar. Get there before 10:00 pm on Wednesdays and you will get 2 beer for free. A lot of people get their free drinks, hang out a bit and then hit the 7-11 in the corner and get a beer outside while chatting around. Then you can go back to the bar with a buzz on and dance a bit. Some people go to Wax where is all-you-can-drink on right after getting their free beers. There’s a NT300 entrance fee the rest of the week.

Roxy Rocker

Address:

A chilled out bar with nothing but rock music in English. It has two main rooms. The first one is right on the entrance where you can get your drinks and enjoy the music and request a song to the DJ if you feel like it. The other one has thousands of long plays that you browse through and take to the DJ so he plays your song. It’s a bit hidden so it doesn’t get very crowded.
